I was diagnosed in December with Gastritis, and since then have had two bouts of nausea and burping since then. I was just put on Protonix for 2 months. I have been trying to eat a bland diet. My question is, will it go away? I'm afraid of having this the rest of my life and being on a bland diet forever.
Does Gastritis go away?

I asked my GP the same question and he said that yes, it does clear up if one sticks to a bland diet for an extended period. I asked the question after dealing with this issue for nine months. The trick is to remain on the diet for several weeks after you start feeling better. Unfortunately, I stopped too soon and ended up with another attack.

I cannot handle this Gastritis. Have had it for months now. The nausea seems to be the worst part of having this condition. I also get constant constipation, and the bloating is horrible. I have so many other serious health issues, and this just makes it worse. What do most people do for the nausea

Hope so. Newly diagnosed and waiting for the h-pylori results.
Was talking to a friend who had a bad case and she suggested eating papaya. Said it would help reverse the condition. I remember ages ago some with gastric issues using papaya digestive enzymes. Wondering if anyone has tried it.

Hey there. I have been seeing a gastroenterologist for a little while. It was confirmed I have Gastritis and have been on Protonix for a while and see the doctor again in 2 months. I feel like I have made progress in feeling better. I still have moments that I don't feel the best but it goes away soon. I still watch what I eat and that seems to help. My doctor recommended a bland & healthy diet. Good luck to you and hope we can get rid of this for good!

Hi I just started dealing with this the GI says it's mild gastritis with mild esophgitis grade 2, the burning pain in my ribs does not feel mild. I have been on proronix now for 10 weeks. I'm following all the rules but it does feel like this is never going to go away how are you guys doing now?

It's a little better... i want to stop the protonix so I tried and by day 3 I had horrible stomach aches so I took my pill... so I can't tell if I'm actually healed or not..most of my symptoms were heartburn and stomach aches..i still have stomach aches in the middle of the night which suck... there not every night but I would say 4 out of the 7 days I have it. How about you how are you feeling?

So do u eat the papaya by itself? I have been drinking fresh ginger root tea twice a day I hear it helps heal it... im on the blandest diet ever... the tea is very soothing

I have eaten it by itself. She also suggested chewing on the seeds. I didn't realize papaya seeds were a tad spicy in flavor. I don't know yet how much it is helping but at least it hasn't made it worse.
As far as will it get better my response is I hope so. But my friend swears the papaya helped hers.

I had Gastritis in October, had the bouts of nausea and burping I thought they would never go away, was given 2 months of Protonix also, it's a information in the lining of the stomach and it does take awhile to heal, I got better, eat light like your doing, nothing with acid, you will get better hang in there.

It can go away it might take a bit, but it does clear up.
